Incidental

When I’m out birding, I don’t really pay attention to getting “the shot.” I’m just trying desperately to get a picture clear enough and detailed enough so I can identity it later. So when I come across a picture like this, I’ll admit to being a bit in awe. A split second before he flitted away, and I got it, and somehow it all came together perfectly. The lighting, the blend of the warbler’s feathers with the leaves. Birding has changed my priorities a bit when it comes to photography. I want to get the bird, not capture the beauty I’ve seen. Something to consider when getting serious photography, is it about the journey or the little notches on my belt?
