A friend of mine requested that today’s post be something red, so here it is: a red rock crab. A silly as it sounds, I’ve been chasing crabs for years. Running up and down beaches, getting close enough to grab them but still too afraid lest they pinch me. They’re one of the few arthropods that don’t creep me out or give me the willies, and I have a profound respect for their adaptability. Large or small, they fill the niche of scavengers on the ocean floor. Maybe I like them just because I’m a Cancer.
